The Story of Foundations of Economics – Shawn Ritenour – Mises Institute. Christianity and economics. Cool article–and I’m going to have to read that book. Sounds awesome.

Vox Popoli: Deliver us from evil. A good thought for Good Friday.
Open Wound
Posted by thak in christianity, philosophical on December 20, 2009
Man…it’s coming from all sides. I can’t explain this crazy week(end?) any better than this:
This life is an open wound that will not heal.
I cry out to God with all of my strength.
Desperately, I reach for Him in the night.
This misery keeps my eyes from closing
Keeps my mouth from being able to speak.
Is this as far as the arm of God extends?
Has the fire burned itself out?
There is no profit in this way of thinking.
I must escape this frame of mind.
And when I think of all He has done
When I consider all that He is
I am complete.-Becoming the Archetype, “Endure” (2007)
For those of you experiencing incredible pain–and you know who you are–God loves you. Yell at him. Let Him know how you feel.
He’s big. He can take it.
Just look at the cross…
Of might and right

Vox Popoli: Of might and right. A very interesting philosophical and theological conundrum, explained with football. And an invading army.
Nice.

What’s Wrong With The ‘Christian’ Video Game?

Gamasutra – Opinion: Guitar Hero Praise – What’s Wrong With The ‘Christian’ Video Game? Ah. The wonderful argument about “Christian” as an adjective. Great writeup.
Personally, I agree with a commenter: I’d be perfectly happy to settle for downloadable content from “Christian” bands–there I go again–and the ability to turn off the backgrounds in the games. But that’s just my opinion.
(Thanks, Dad.)
Money or Bombs

The Dilbert Blog: Money or Bombs. A big reason for my change in stance from “bomb the bastards” to “why the hell are we killing innocent people”.
The logical reasons for war are all evil. Unless it is in direct self defense. As in, “someone is literally invading my home right now”. Not vague “we’ve got to kill them over there before they come over here” self defense.
And it’s been a huge shift for me–but I’m sure that it’s more in line with what I believe as a Christian…
Atheists and inquisition
Posted by in christianity, philosophical on February 11, 2008
Vox Day | Atheists and inquisition. I’ll get the obligatory Python quote out of the way… “No one expects the Spanish Inquisition!”
And on a more serious note, it’s quite interesting to see how the spin has completely overtaken the truth of the matter…so read this article to get a more “balanced” view of what actually happened.
Please note, I’m not saying that there wasn’t some injustice committed within this activity–it’s just not nearly as bad as people make it out to be…
‘Irrational Atheist’ trounces God-deniers
Posted by in christianity, philosophical on January 28, 2008
WorldNetDaily: ‘Irrational Atheist’ trounces God-deniers. I already ordered my copy.
And you’ll be able to download the entire thing from his website when it’s released, so you don’t have to buy it unless you want to.
But I’ll warn you–he doesn’t pull any punches, and he’s very “unchurchy” in his rhetoric. Which, of course, I love.
Merry Christmas

Vox Popoli: Merry Christmas. A fantastic Christmas thought that’s good to consider on this Christmas day.
Merry Christmas, everyone.
