The S-Word
Posted by in economics, government, philosophical, politics on October 31, 2008
The Goal Is Freedom: The S-Word | The Foundation for Economic Education: In Brief. A great writeup that explains why I will most likely not be voting Republican ever again in my lifetime.
Because, at this point, Republican = Democrat when it comes to things that I believe really matter…
Greenspan Shocked

Greenspan Shocked | The Foundation for Economic Education: In Brief. More on the truth behind the recent “failure of the economy”. Basically, blaming Greenspan is like blaming the monarch in modern Britain–he was just the figurehead.

The Goal Is Freedom: Who Needs Evidence? | The Foundation for Economic Education: In Brief. A fantastic rebuttal to the ignorant “must have new regulation” rhetoric coming from the pro-government advocates.
The free market didn’t fail…because it’s never existed.
End of story.

Vox Popoli: The foolishness of fear

Vox Popoli: The foolishness of fear. A-freaking-men.
If you compromise your principles for expediency, you aren’t principled any longer.
Period.
Hands on: Lala.com’s cloud music store changes everything
ArsTechnica | Hands on: Lala.com’s cloud music store changes everything. This is seriously cool. If you haven’t checked it out, it’s definitely worth doing.
So much better than iTunes–much cheaper–10 cents for unlimited streaming of a song?!–and 89 cents for a DRM-free MP3 of the song. Which the 10 cent trial counts towards. So Sarah & I can spend $1 and listen to 10 new worship songs–an unlimited number of times–to help us determine whether or not we can/want to do them for church. All from the comfort of our basement.
Oh, and they also have a tool that allows you to put your entire library online–like an automatic backup of all of your tunes–legally or illegally obtained. They automatically link up some songs–I’m guessing those of you with iTunes will have great success–but all of the rest of the “non-linkable” stuff gets uploaded to their servers. When you have thousands of CDs like I do, it takes a while for all of the “offbeat” stuff to get uploaded…I’m on day two…
All of that said, just set up an account and check it out. Since you get 50 free songs, it’s definitely worth at least checking out stuff you’ve been considering…
Refuse to choose
Posted by in government, philosophical, politics on October 21, 2008
WorldNetDaily | Refuse to choose. Amen. McCain = Obama = big corporation / big government patsies.
Fight the power. Vote against both by voting Libertarian. Or Constitution. Doesn’t matter.
AT LEAST YOU WON’T BE VOTING FOR EVIL.
Capitalism or Freedom

Capitalism or Freedom | The Foundation for Economic Education: In Brief.
And yes, the answer is freedom.
This article is a great background on the system we have in America, which is not–and has never been–a free market. There have always been corporate interests working in the background to subvert the power of the government and steal from the people.
Our government does not work for us–and never will–unless we figure out a way to start all over again. Instant-runoff elections. A parliamentary system. Secession. Whatever. What we’ve got right now sure ain’t working…

The irrelevant presidential debate

Vox Popoli: The irrelevant presidential debate. Once again, spot on.
What is the definition of insanity again? Oh, yeah.
“The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”
Kind of like voting Republican for the past decade or two…
